August 26, 2008 — Please be advised that the 2009 quota for foreign labor permitted in the Republic of Kazakhstan will be determined on the 1st of December 2008.

The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan established the quota to protect the domestic labor market and it is distributed among the regions and the cities, including Astana and Almaty. The quota takes into account the current status of the labor market and the economic requirements of these regions.

In order to be included in the forthcoming 2009 foreign labor quota, applications need to be submitted by the end of September 2008.

Failure to submit an application will mean authorities cannot guarantee issuance of work permits in 2009.
